We have visits from The Education Life Bus throughout the year talking about many different topics to all the children in our school

Stay and Learn visits happen each term where parents have the opportunity to work alongside their child in class and attend our whole school Merit Assembly,

Year 5 children take part in the Remembrance Day Service at the Cenotaph (12th November)

Polio awareness assembly led by Peter Swincoate from the Rotary Club for Years 5 and 6 (29th November)

December

Whole School Pilgrimage.  The whole school explored the story of Christmas by looking at different interpretations of the Christmas story.  We all completed a piece of art work inspired by an original painting and asked great big questions to develop our understanding of the Christmas story and why it is important to Christians (8th December)

Christmas Jumper Day for Save the Children (15 December)

Year 6 visited Nottingham Lakeside Arts to watch a performance of Black Beauty 15th December)

Year 6 children visit Brailsford House Care Home to perform Christmas carols (18th December)

Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and Year 3 performed the Nativity (20th December)

Year 6 perform Christmas Carols and songs at the Vintage Tea at the Town Hall (20th December)

Year 6 visit church to take part in a Christmas service.  They received a candle presented to them from the Bishop (21st December)

Whole school make individual Christingles and take part in Christingle service during the afteroon (21st December)

January 

Children from year 4 - 6 took part in the Young Voices Concert at Sheffield Arena (18th January)

Year 6 children visit the Holocaust Museum (24th January)

Year 6 children take part in the dedication of the Miners' Window in church (28th January)

Year 3 and 5 children take part in a Hindu day (30th January)

February

Year 3 children visit church to learn about a Christian place of worship  (2nd February)

Year 5 children take part in a debating competition at The Elizabethan Academy (12th February)

Year 3 and 4 children visit church for an Ash Wednesday Service (14th February)

A world faith's day was held in school (Thursday 15th February)

Years 1-6 watched an anti-bullying production in the hall (28th February)

March

Everyone dressed up as their favourite book character to celebrate World Book Day (1st March)

Year 5 went Time Travelling at Southwell Minster (8th March)

Everyone dressed up in sports kit and brought donations for Sport Relief.  We also had our own inter-house competition (23rd March)

Archdeacon David Pickon led our Collective Worship on Maundy Thursday (29th March)

April

Pupils took part in the Passion Play at Church on Easter Sunday (1st April)

DARE programme begins for Year 6.

Olympic Cyclist Bryan Steele visits school for an inspirational assembly and Q & A sessions with all of the pupils.

May

 

NSPCC visits school to talk to us about keeping safe. The whole school took part in Buddy's Big Workout.
