Children’s Progress and the National Curriculum
At Harworth Church of England Academy we follow the National Curriculum. Parents receive at the end of every term a progress report which shows individual targets for progress and whether their child is meeting age related expectations. On our tracking system age related expectations for the end of the academic year will mean that they have reached 'secure' for their year group.
Progress in our school is measured in steps within age related, below age related or above age related categories. Therefore children can make progress within these categories and at their own pace and ability. Children are expected to reach the age related expectation for their year group by the end of that year. We use a rocket going into space to illustrate our system (see above).
